History:

The long genesis of Sassicaia

Sassicaia is a legendary Super Tuscan wine that took over thirty years to achieve international acclaim. In 1978, it won first place in a blind tasting of Cabernet-based wines from all over the world. Since then, Sassicaia has consistently received high praise from critics and consumers alike. It has been awarded 100/100 points by Robert Parker twice, in 1985 and 2016, and was named the best wine in the world by Wine Spectator in 2018.

Sassicaia is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc grapes. It is known for its full-bodied, powerful flavor and its complex aromas of fruit, flowers, and spices. Sassicaia has the potential to age for many years, and it is best decanted before serving with hearty meats.

Sassicaia’s success is due to a number of factors, including the high quality of the grapes, the careful winemaking process, and the unique terroir of the Bolgheri region in Tuscany. Sassicaia is produced on a small estate, and the grapes are harvested by hand. The wine is fermented in stainless steel vats and then aged in French oak barrels for two years.

Sassicaia is a truly exceptional wine, and it is one of the most iconic Super Tuscans ever produced. It is a wine that is sure to impress even the most discerning palate.
